Since the lockdown began in March, I’ve had to take up some new hobbies. One of them was sharpening my keyboard skills, which were getting a bit rusty since I took lessons as a teen. Proper lighting is crucial to clearly seeing sheet music, and one of the best piano lights is the BenQ PianoLight.

The BenQ PianoLight is specifically designed to illuminate every corner of sheet music, as well as the entire width of the keyboard, all without spilling its super bright light anywhere else. Its exclusive optical structure design offers a total light range of up to 48 inches. Users can select any of its six Adjustable Color Temperatures to choose the right light color for any music session. Illuminance levels reach 300 lux on both sides. PianoLight has a built-in ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts to the illumination level best suited to the environment.

It’s simple to set up and use, with a well-designed bottom cushion and weight placement to minimize sound resonance. This piano light well-built and sturdy, with soft-touch buttons to control the light settings. A built-in infrared sensor detects and switches on the light when you sit down to play.

In no time, I was back to playing my favorite songs on the piano, with ample lighting for my sheet music and the keys. This is one of the best piano lights I’ve ever used and it will become a welcome addition to future piano sessions.
