Axi2 Desktop 3D Printer

SynDaver, the bio-technology company made famous for manufacturing synthetic humans and animals for surgical education and medical device testing, released their second 3D printer, the SynDaver Axi2.

The made-in-the-USA Axi2 is the first of several 3D printers SynDaver is planning for release in 2021. Building upon the success of their first 3D printer, the new and ruggedized Axi2 adds a number of new features, including WiFi, adjustable stage lighting and a rail-stabilized motion system to deliver high-quality, dimensionally accurate and aesthetically pleasing prints.

The incredibly quiet printer also employs a color touch screen, large build volume, high performance toolhead, direct drive extruder and a heated BL Touch automatic 25-point mesh bed leveling system to enable edge-to-edge printing. The magnetic, powder-coated PEI build plate is flexible enough to allow prints to be easily removed and a run-out sensor detects when there is no more filament. The system pauses the print so the filament can be replaced before resuming the print.

SynDaver is also launching a “trade-up” program with the Axi2. Now, anyone who purchases a SynDaver 3D printer can trade this printer in to receive a credit toward the purchase of other SynDaver printers.

The Axi2 has a list price of $1,995 and is available at SynDaver.com or at one of their many partner retailers, which include 3D Printlife, IT-Works 3D, Makerwiz, Midwest Technology, Printed Solid and Mouser.

The Axi2 follows the popular SynDaver Axi 3D printer, which was launched in June of 2020 by leveraging the talent from a well-known Colorado 3D printing company that closed down at the end of 2019. SynDaver plans on launching additional brand new 3D printers in Q2, Q3 and Q4 of 2021.

SynDaver’s synthetic humans, animal models and task trainers simulate the anatomy of live patients in great detail, including individual muscles, tendons, veins, arteries, nerves and organ systems. The company’s patented synthetic tissues are made of water, fibers and salts, and each has been validated against the relevant living tissue for mechanical and physical properties.
