Folding bike supplier Montague launches full-sized folding e-bike, designed for city dwellers

The Montague M-E1 is a performance trekking e-bike with 700c wheels that folds in seconds with a single quick release. The patent-pending design allows the mid-drive e-bike to be stored in closets and car trunks, keeping it safe from theft and out of the elements. The weight of the bike is supported by the double-leg kickstand during folding, so riders don’t need to lift or support the bike in any way. Once folded, the bike can be rolled for transport by holding the handlebar and tilting the bike onto the wheels. The fold-and-roll feature is ideal for crossing a train platform or entering an elevator or apartment building.
For more compact storage, the handlebars fold with an additional quick release, creating a 38″ x 38″ x 13″ package. The bike has a Shimano STEPS E6100 mid-drive 250w motor with a 36V / 418Wh lithium battery pack for up to 50 miles of pedal-assist per charge. Other specs include a Shimano Deore drivetrain, Deore hydraulic disc brakes, SR Suntour NEX suspension fork, and e-bike-specific Schwalbe Energizer Plus tires.
