This 60 VOLT System is putting up a contentious challenge in a bid to unseat gas lawncare equipment as the go-to!
Consider this if you will: While it’s true that gas trimmers like Husqavarna’s 330LK gas motors can produce up to 11000 RPM, the “no load” transfer to the shaft reduces the RPM output to 5739. The Cat 60V 15″ Brushless String Trimmer has a “no-load” RPM of 6000 at the shaft! In layman’s terms, when it comes time to do the work the Cat 60 Volt Brushless Trimmer outperforms the gas trimmers!

If we could get Cat to incorporate a solar charging port every lawn care company in the Nation would gladly turn in their gas-powered headaches and make the switch to battery-powered! If Cat sees this review I can almost guarantee you they’ll have an accessory out next year with a 200w solar charging port built in. That is just who they are and have always been! Johnny on the spot!
My 2nd look at Lawncare equipment from the Cat 60 Volt brushless system has me reiterating the sentiments from my previous 60 Volt Brushless Lawnmower review.
Cat just does it better!
My favorite features:
- Quick Load – Just thread the needle and turn. That’s as simple as it gets guys! You can reload in less than 2 minutes if you’re arthritis is kicking up.
- Adjustable Auxillary Handle– I’d like to see this become a click lock eventually but the fact that they have improved it to a knob from a hex screw shows they’re heading in the right direction.
- Eco Speed– There’s no sense trashing the brick on your house or maiming fence pickets! :o) The Echo Speed will extend the battery life on a typical suburban lawn from 35 minutes to a little beyond 50 minutes. Be sure to use it.
- BUMP-LINE FEED SYSTEM– Your line feed is just a “bump” away. It’s reactive also! A quick tap is all you need.
