Jason sent me one a couple of months ago and I’ve been holding off on the review in hopes of actually being able to put the Tactical Pen to good use. I came close one evening when my neighbor Octavius asked to borrow some change for the ice cream truck. When I asked how much he needed he said “Two dollars”! If I would have had the pen in my hand I would have considered it! :0) Yes, I gave him the two Dollars! After all, what are neighbors for, right?
Let us play a little game of “what if”. What if you’re walking out of a venue that doesn’t allow firearms and you get that queasy feeling something is amiss? Your intuition has kicked in and you’re on alert status. As you scan your surroundings you realize your intuition may be spot on for there are two people that are walking just behind you at the same pace but one lane over. They are clad in dark clothing with their heads drawn down. They’ve done nothing wrong to this point but you want an added level of protection. Guns and knives weren’t allowed in the venue but your Tactical Pen was! I could name many instances over the past 30 years where people just like you and I could have greatly benefitted from having a Tactical Pen. I won’t go into detail due to the sensitivity that goes hand in hand with those instances.
I know this sounds violent but you need to consider the other alternative. People are Abducted and Robbed or Carjacked every day in our Country. Having levels of protection isn’t a bad idea.
Jason has designed the Tactical Pen as a close-combat weapon. You don’t have to be an expert to use it either. Hold your thumb over the end of the pen cap and punch it repeatedly into the attacker. Your target areas are they eyes ,throat, and groin, but virtually anywhere will work. They won’t see it coming for it’s concealed in the fist of your hand.
Jason’s Tactical Pen is the original made out of a solid block of steel unlike most of the copy cats and it serves three purposes, writing, breaking glass, and personal protection. Yeah, you can get a tactical pen that might have scissors or a can opener but those extras create an inferior weapon as housing those extras diminishes the impact strength of the weapon/ pen.
When traveling with the Tactical pen be smart about it. Put the cap over the sharp edge with the pen in the open position and put it in your carry on or next to your Ipad etc,,, Once you get on the plane retrieve it. It’s a pen!
Bottom Line: This is a tech worth having. It’s a tech your wives, sons, and daughters should have also. There are better ways to defend yourself for sure but none of those other options can be with you 100% of the time without limiting your range of travel. The Tactical Pen will always be with you!
