A Dual Display Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C Docking Station with 60w Power Delivery
The VT4800 is a versatile Docking Station that allows the use of both USB-C and Thunderbolt technology unlike much of the competition which focuses on one or the other. In lieu of HDMI the unit uses Display Port Cables so make sure and have them on hand to avoid any delay in set up.
The unit has two USB A 3.1 port in addition to a single USB C 3.1 and a pair of USB A 3.0 ports. The extra speed the 3.1 port provides is a nice feature as it provides for very efficient download speeds. It comes equipped with a full functioning Headset/Mic port. If you plan on using it though make sure to switch settings at the sound control menu on your Computer.
It’s a fairly lightweight Station made out oof a plastic case that makes it a bit difficult to position or at minimum keep symmetrical on the desk for us OCD types but that can be easily worked around with a couple of strips of Velcro tape (what I ended up doing) to hold it in place.
The 60W power delivery is plenty for most Laptops and if you by chance do have a laptop that utilizes a 100-watt charger just make sure to shut down before completely draining it so that you can boot and continue work immediately. Otherwise just plug it in and fix a drink. You’ll be back up in a few minutes.

If you’re looking for a versatile Docking Station, the VT4800 fits the bill. It’s always nice to have the option of using either technology so keep that in mind when you go to purchase. USB-C is nowhere near being phased out at this point so the VT4800 remains relative and maybe even the preferred style docking station for the time being.
