8K Micro-OLED VR Headset

Pimax has introduced its 8K virtual reality (VR) headset. Built for gaming, entertainment, and simulation, the headset focuses on delivering a more realistic experience by improving resolution, field of view, and overall comfort. Pimax aims to bring users closer to a lifelike digital environment than traditional VR systems.

The Pimax Crystal Super 8K Micro-OLED headset features an ultra-high-resolution display. The device uses dual 4K screens, providing a resolution of 3840 x 3552 per eye. As a result, users can see finer details and clearer visuals while using the device. The high pixel count also helps reduce the “screen door effect,” which is when users can see visible lines between pixels in lower-resolution displays. A wider field of view allows users to see more of the virtual world without turning their heads as much. It also includes interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment, allowing users to customize lens spacing based on their eyes.

The Pimax Crystal Super 8K Micro-OLED has a refresh rate between 75Hz and 90Hz. aThe Pimax Crystal Super 8K Micro-OLED headset also includes built-in tracking capabilities that respond to a user’s movements. With head tracking and optional hand motion support, the device follows the user’s position and actions in real time. The Pimax Crystal Super 8K Micro-OLED features an adjustable head strap and ergonomic padding to help users wear the device for longer periods.

The Pimax Crystal Super 8K Micro-OLED is currently available for pre-order at $2,199 on Pimax’s website.
