The Creative Stage SE is proof that High Quality Sound doesn’t have to break the bank!
Throughout the day I find myself clicking over to YouTube for a little entertainment. I’m a huge music buff at heart and was satisfied with the Realtek Audio that came with the All-in-one I had purchased last year. Then, about a month ago, I saw that an associate of mine was repping the Creative Stage SE so I inquired about it. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the speaker when it first arrived mainly due to the unit’s price range. The fact that I hadn’t had too much luck with the quality of a previous sound bar purchase that was much more expensive didn’t help my outlook either. Those factors had me passing judgement on the Creative Stage SE before I ever got it out of the box. I was figuring it’d be one of those regifted Christmas presents I received back in a couple of years as I honestly didn’t think it would outperform the speakers that came with the pc,
“It’s Not the first time I’ve eaten crow!”
To my surprise, this speaker produced an amazing sound straight out of the box, I don’t want to say I was “Blown away” by its quality but I kind of was! I had put on “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” by “The Band” for testing it. The song opens with some heavy Horns and has so many instruments involved. Each instrument is played so crisply throughout that it makes for a great test song. What I heard coming from this speaker brought back memories of the old Bose shelf speakers that you used to have to place 3″ from the wall to accentuate the reverb. The sound was amazing and honestly shocked me! It has a very Hollow kind of delivery as if you were hearing a band performing in a Great Hall or Church Cathedral. The bass was deep, and you could feel it in your bones. It was deep while maintaining amazing clarity.
Later on, I cranked the volume up to max just to get a “real feel” of what the unit could produce power wise. As I was sitting here thinking, “it could play 5-10 decibels higher”, my roomie walked in and kindly asked me to turn it down. ;0) I’m not sure if it was Hendrix’s “Are you experienced” that was playing or the fact that it was “too loud” but either one means he heard it from across the house! :0)
It’s a great purchase for the price and makes me want to test the lines upper echelon products. I can’t imagine they can deliver much more than the Creative Stage SE already did!
