The “Evolution Hoodie” by COALATREE is a great way to start your day!
It’s a good thing that COALATREE sent me two of these Hoodies to test in the sweltering days of a Texas Summer. You see, I got creative and put one of them through a rigorous beating for the past month! The first thing I did to get acquainted with my newfound friend was turn the house into an igloo. The electric bill didn’t bother me a bit because we had faced 17 straight days of a 110-degree heat index. I was about ready to cut ties with Texas and move North. The North Pole perhaps?
The Tests:
Test 1- Since The Evolution Hoodie is made of plastic bottles and coffee grounds, the first thing I did was wash it. In a sink of boiling water! I was bound and determined to get one more “pot” out of the coffee grounds! I microwaved bowls and had 4 pots boiling on the stove so that the water was steaming hot then I dumped them all into the sink, put the hoodie in, and started stirring it with a wooden spoon like it was a witch’s brew! I stirred for a few minutes to no avail. The water didn’t change color one tiny bit! With my glasses fogged up from the heat and barely able to see, I walked over to the Keurig on the counter next to the sink and pressed the button for my morning coffee.
On a side note, The Evolution Hoodie did “bead up” on the cool-down so, the hoodie is definitely water-repellant!
The result of test 1 – Failed! The Evolution Hoodie will “Not” provide coffee should you be lost in the wilderness while wearing it and crave a cup of “Joe.” :0)
Test 2 – Me and this video right here! I have big issues with this video! It’s missing half the technique! COALATREE! “Stuff and Zip” is “Not” a wrinkle-free, proper-like technique!!! :0) After drying it, I spent the rest of the morning trying to master “turning” this thing into a pillow before knocking on Cheryl’s door and getting her to turn it into a pillow (It took her two minutes). Don’t be fooled, men! “Trick folding” is a woman’s domain! I could still hear Cheryl’s slights, jabs, and mocks as I went back to the house. On arrival, I used the “Pillow Hoodie” (she folded) to take a much-needed nap brought on by the sensory overload caused by this man-hating video. ;0)
The result of test 2 – Mixed! While Cheryl found it quite easy to form a comfortable pillow, I refused to unzip it for fear of never being able to rezip it! I have since washed and dried the 2nd Hoodie and am using it for the final test.
Price: $ 109.00
Test 3- I can’t figure out why they call this thing a Hoodie! It’s more like a womans purse in that you can basically store anything in it! I took the pillow back over to Cheryl (The star of this review) and gave it to her for her help. I put my cell and wallet in the zipper part and I look over at her and she has everything but a baby kangaroo coming out of her pouch! Her wallet, make-up, change purse, etc ( she was being a smartass).
Test 3 result – Passed with flying colors. I found the Evolution Hoodie to be a kind of “favorite blankie-like” comfortable as did she. Cheryl and I agreed to go for a hike when the weather permits (Probably sometime in January) to give the Hoodies a field test. I left her house to the site of her “boxing” her hands in a folding motion while laughing. :0) Next time I review a car accessory she’s installing it and I’m going to be the one laughing! :0)
