Keyport announced the release of Versa58, a revolutionary modular everyday carry system that introduces new tools and fidget-friendly functionality to 58mm SAKs, keychains, and pocket setups. Designed to expand what small tools can do without adding bulk or complexity, it allows users to build, swap, and evolve tools across standalone carry, keychains, workspaces, and classic multitools using a single, shared platform.
With the Versa58, Keyport is applying two decades of experience to one of the most iconic tools ever created, extending its functionality with a platform designed for both today’s users and tomorrow’s innovations. At its core, Versa58 is built around fidget-friendly magnetic plates. These plates allow users to build, swap, and reconfigure compact tools in seconds, whether as standalone mini tools, keychain carry, or compact workspace tools. Versa58 was also designed to integrate directly with one of the most iconic multitools ever made: the 58mm Swiss Army Knife.
This compatibility unlocks an expanding universe of configurations. By treating 58mm not as a fixed product but as a flexible system, Versa58 bridges iconic utility with modern modular design. The result is a carry that adapts over time, reducing redundancy, extending usefulness, and giving users more control over how they carry and use everyday tools.
Disclaimer: We’re big fans of Victorinox, but we’re not affiliated with or endorsed by Victorinox AG or any of its trademarks, including “Swiss Army.” The modular Keyport Versa58 System is a patent-pending platform we designed to work independently or to complement existing 58mm SAKs.
Versa58 operates as a single system across two interconnected ecosystems.
- Standalone Modular Mini ToolsVersa58’s standalone capability is powered by its MagMount connector system, a polarity-controlled magnetic interface engineered specifically for everyday carry.
Using MagMounts, users can assemble compact, purpose-built mini tools that function entirely on their own. Each module connects in a controlled, deliberate way that ensures correct orientation and proper alignment.
These standalone builds are ideal for minimalist carry, keychains, travel kits, desks, or situations where a full multitool is unnecessary. Modules can also be positioned on metal surfaces for hands-free use, turning them into flexible problem-solvers. The result is a system that feels secure in use, fluid to reconfigure, and satisfying in hand. Strong enough to stay put. Smooth enough to rearrange without effort.
- Modular SAK Integration
The same modules can also integrate directly with any 58mm Swiss Army Knife that uses plastic (Cellidor) scales. Versa58 replaces the original scales using a proprietary interface plate on all Versa58 scales and modules that mounts cleanly and securely to the existing brass rivets. No drilling, no adhesives and no permanent modification. The multitool remains intact, reversible, and true to its original design.
First Wave Modules and Scales
Versa58 launches with a growing lineup of modules and scales, all designed to the same 58mm footprint and engineered to work seamlessly across both ecosystems.
• Pocket Flare Mini-Flashlight – Compact USB-C rechargeable mini LED light with low beam, high beam, and lamp modes.
• Mini Pen Module (6061 Aluminum or Grade 5 Titanium) – Precision mini ballpoint pen that uses a premium replaceable German Troika refill (99Z119)
• USB-C 3.0 Flash Drive – Available in 64GB and 256GB options
• V Scale (6061 Aluminum or Grade 5 Titanium) – Modular front scale that includes the multi-use slot for a toothpick, tweezers, or ferro rod. Quick to swap, easy to personalize, and requires no permanent modification.
• Clip Scale (6061 Aluminum or Grade 5 Titanium) – Adds a clean, low profile pocket clip carry option to the 58 mm format without changing its iconic footprint. You even get to keep your toothpick/tweezers slot and key ring.
• MagMount Connector – Magnetic quick-connect system using three tuned neodymium magnets for secure attachment and smooth, controlled reconfiguration.
Versa58 has been developed and documented in close collaboration with creators who understand the 58mm ecosystem inside and out. Throughout development, MaxLvlEDC worked directly with the Keyport team to explore configurations, stress real-world use cases, and clearly demonstrate how the system works.
Versa58 launched on Kickstarter on January 20, 2026 and runs for 30 days. Backers will have access to early bird tiers offering discounts up to 35 percent off MSRP. Pricing is positioned competitively within the premium everyday carry category. Shipping is expected to start in August 2026 from Keyport’s headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada.
